If you're experiencing water loss in your pool or spa and want to determine the source of the leak, follow these steps to save time and potentially reduce costs.
1. Turn off the spa at your equipment and run the pool equipment alone for 24 hours.
2. Check water levels in both the pool and spa after this period:
- If the pool loses water but the spa doesn't, the leak is likely in the pool.
- If the spa loses water, run it independently for another 24 hours.
- If the spa remains full, it's likely a faulty check valve, an issue that can easily be fixed by your pool equipment company.
- If the spa still loses water, a leak detection company is needed to pinpoint the problem.
